Howdy all. If you got here, then you probably are a member of the Shideler Family, and if you know who's writing it, then you also probably know why you're here.
This is also probably NOT the dermatology practice you were looking for, and while we're probably related to the owners of the Shideler Dermatology clinic, we are not the droids you're looking for. This is a blog used more as an announcement vehicle for the descendants of the Iowan Shideler and Wilson clans, their relatives, and their descendants. Much of our genealogy has been worked up, and while we're able to direct you to contacts of people who would be able to answer your genealogy questions, this is not what this site is intended for.
I created the blog to help keep track of certain things in the Shideler Clan's life. Once I figure out if / how I can put a password on this site to permit only Shideler family members to post to this site, I'll be a happy camper. Until then, no biggie. The current game plan is to make this a site that's capable of hosting certain tools that allow us to keep more in contact as well as provide a semi-news bulletin. Since this is still a blog (and a public one at that), no information will be posted here that shares personal contact information with the outside world (at least not until we can set up that access portal thing. Who knows?)
You should also be aware that recently our family email list, ShidelerCon, has had some strange issues lately with bouncing emails. If you haven't been receiving the recent updates (and I will be sending a monthly subscription reminder to everyone soon) please check your Google Group settings. For preference, you should be using a Gmail or Google account. You can sign up for a free Google account and have your personal Gmail address forward the email messages to your regular account. I'll be posting how to do this here, later.
